Danish thrashers ARTILLERY have set "When Death Comes" as the title of their fifth album, due in Europe in June and in Japan in July via Poland's Metal Mind Productions. The CD was recorded at Medley Studios in Copenhagen with producer Søren Andersen (guitar player in Oliver Weers' solo band) at Medley Studios in Copenhagen. A video for the song "10,000 Devils" was shot this past Thursday and will be unveiled when the album is released.

HYPOCRISY, the Swedish extreme metal band led by guitarist/vocalist Peter Tägtgren (also of PAIN), has issued the following update:
"As you know Peter has been busy touring with PAIN during the first half of this year. But in between the tours, vocals [for the new HYPOCRISY album] have been recorded. Three songs are finished with vocals so far. Ten more to go until the final mixing will begin.
"The plan was to be finished with the album in the first quater of this year and to release it in the summer. But we're very sorry to let you know that it's not gonna happen. During the recording process we realized that we would't make it in time. We don't want to stress just to get it out, because this album is going to be the best we've ever done! We're going to make a new release plan with our record company and the album will be out later this year. The cover for the album is already decided but before we make it offical we would like to set the title for it. There are still some work to do but we'll let you know how it's going.
"We can't wait for it to be released and finally go on tour again!" |

Orange County, California's hardcore/metal act THROWDOWN will enter the studio this Wednesday, April 22 to begin recording its new album, "Deathless", for a late 2009 release via E1 Music (formerly KOCH Records)
Commented THROWDOWN frontman Dave Peters: "We're pretty stoked, to say the least. We hope you're ready for these songs. Barring anything catastrophic occurring, like my left hand catching on fire or the Skittles factory ceasing production and thus killing Mark, you should be able to find the new album sometime toward the end of the summer/beginning of fall. But first thing's first; let's record the shit and melt faces." |

Godnym odnotowanie jest fakt, ze znany i lubiany przez niektorych nowojorski RIOT zebral sie w skladzie, ktory nagral klasyk "THUNDERSTEEL" (to juz wiadomo od jakiegos czasu), a kapela pojawi sie w Europie na Sweden Rock i na tym hiszpanskim festiwalu, o ktorym pisalem w tym temacie wczesniej.
Byly wokalista RIOT, Mike Tirelii (rowniez Holy Mother, Messiah's Kiss i pare innych), ktory zmagal sie od jakiegos czasu z rakiem zoladka i uczeszczal na chemoterapie, przeszedl powazna operacje zoladka (w marcu bodajze) i aktualnie dochodzi do zdrowia. Czeka go jeszcze rekonwalescencja i ponowna dawka promieniowania.
Oby sie udalo, bo wokalista jest nieprzecietnym.

GODSMACK Working On 'Really Heavy' New Album
GODSMACK has begun work on the material for the band's follow-up to 2006's "IV" which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart. Artisan News Service caught up with GODSMACK frontman Sully Erna to get his thoughts on the direction the new album is taking.
"It's gonna be really heavy," he said. "I mean, it's very aggressive. I'm not really sure; it's very premature right now. Right now we just finished one track for the Crüe Fest this Summer. But as far as the whole record goes, I think it's going to be a lot more in your face. I don't think there's going to be any 'Voodoo's or 'Serenity's on this one. We decided to go balls out!"

SONATA ARCTICA Guitarist's 'Fire-Hearted': More Details Revealed
Spinefarm Records has set a June 24 Finnish release date for the third solo album from SONATA ARCTICA guitarist Elias Viljanen, entitled "Fire-Hearted". According to the label "there will be 12 tracks on the album and 10 of the tracks will be instrumental." W połowie lipca blackmetalowa grupa Dark Funeral ze Szwecji rozpocznie nagrania nowego i długo oczekiwanego albumu.
Płyta ta będzie pierwszym studyjnym albumem Szwedów od blisko czterech lat. Ostatni regularny longplay "Attera Totus Sanctus" miał swą premierę w październiku 2005 roku.
Album zostanie zarejestrowany w słynnym szwedzkim studiu "Abyss", pod okiem Petera Tägtgren, na co dzień lidera Hyporcisy i Pain.
"Bez wątpienia będzie to nasz najbardziej różnorodny muzycznie album, być może nieco cięższy w porównaniu z poprzednikiem, choć nadal z tą samą atmosferą i siłą" - zdradził gitarzysta Lord Ahriman.
"Tym razem zaproponujemy więcej ciężkich utworów bez blastów. Część materiału może być zaskoczeniem - nie jest to typowy styl Dark Funeral od początku do końca, co osobiście bardzo mnie ożywia" - dodał.
